Migraines and Food allergies

January 5, 2011 By //  by Whitney Young, ND

Naturopathic Doctors frequently use IgG food sensitivity  testing to figure out what foods are causing problems for their patients. It’s a blood based test that can be done in-office or at the lab. It is not considered a main-stream test and many question it’s validity.
Personally I use the test more and more. The testing on my son provided immediate relief from his eczema (within a week of food elimination). My patients continue to get wonderful results.
Now, I can provide a double-blind, randomised, cross-over trial to back up it’s use for migraine suffers. When the patients removed the IgG sensitive foods from their diet, they had a statistically significant reduction in both the number of headache days and the number of migraine attacks.
I have always felt confient in recommending this test, but it’s always nice to have a ‘real study’ to back it up.
Yours in Health,
