DHA Supplementation During Pregnancy Lowers Postpartum Depression

Fifty-two women were randomly assigned to 300 mg of DHA or a placebo corn
oil capsule for consumption 5 days a week during weeks 24-40 of pregnancy.
Symptoms of postpartum depression were assessed at 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months
and 6 months. A significant difference in Postpartum Depression Screening Scale
(PDSS) scores was observed, withthe DHA group having a consistent 6-point lower
