Confession...⁠ ⁠ I'm obsessed with Hallmark's Confession...⁠ ⁠ I'm obsessed with Hallmark's Christmas Movies. The predictable story lines. The small-town person meets city-person. There's some miscommunication, and then they figure it out, and kiss at the end. ⁠ ⁠ The End!⁠ ⁠ So perfect. So predictable. Happily ever after. ⁠ ⁠ I think I like them so much because it's a break from reality. ⁠ ⁠ Reality is there are beautiful moments like these. Picture-perfect moments walking hand-in-hand with your loved one. ⁠ ⁠ Those moments are real. ⁠ ⁠ And then there are the extremely hard moments like this morning, sending the kids to school. Both in tears, because they enjoyed their 3 day weekend, and wanted to stay home. ⁠ ⁠ The reality that Tim and I are still living separate lives. That he will visit once in awhile but for the most part, it's me doing the majority of the parenting, caring for the house, myself, working, etc, on my own.⁠ ⁠ All of that doesn't take away from the beautiful moments of parenting or with my husband. ⁠ ⁠ But I have to let go of the fantasy Hallmark movie. Or just enjoy the Hallmark movie for what it is - a movie. A moment in time before the couple has another "misunderstanding."⁠ ⁠ Let go of unrealistic expectations. Accept what is and learn to go with the flow, breathe, and ride these waves up and down. It's all worth it, it's just not a movie all the time. ⁠ ⁠ Whitney⁠

Family Smoothie Recipe ⁠ ⁠ Jillian created her Family Smoothie Recipe ⁠ ⁠ Jillian created her own recipe for a smoothie that she calls "Yummy Delicious." It's a generational thing. I don't believe our gra It's a generational thing. I don't believe our grandparents apologized when they made mistakes to their kids. Why did I become a naturopathic doctor?⁠ ⁠ I'm Why did I become a naturopathic doctor?⁠ ⁠ I'm a researcher and planner kinda girl.⁠ ⁠ When I was at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario for Biology I started researching all kinds of careers in the health field.⁠ ⁠ I wanted to help people.⁠ ⁠ I wanted to work one-on-one with people.⁠ ⁠ And I didn't want to be bored.⁠ ⁠ When I discovered naturopathic medicine, this is why it fit for me:⁠ ⁠ - We get to spend a lot of time with our patients⁠ - We get to know the whole person, not just one concern⁠ - We have so many fun tools in our toolbox to help you feel better (food! herbs!)⁠ - My values of environmentalism align with this career⁠ - Each day and person looks different, which keeps it exciting and challenging (never boring!)⁠ ⁠ I'm so grateful that I chose this path. ⁠ ⁠ It's hard being my own boss, building a patient-base and owning my own clinic. But it's so rewarding and the pros definitely out-weigh the cons. ⁠ ⁠
